Several weeks ago I made a foolish, self-centered comment on someone’s blog and clicked back a few days later to see if there was a response. When I re-read what I wrote, I sighed at my words and simply hit ‘Delete’. I felt SO relieved. Then I wrote this:
Thank God for the “Delete” button
(aka “Prayer”),
the one that provides the pouring
out of my transgressions
erases my foolishness
allowing for the do-overs,
the one-more-times,
assuring me His mercies are
new every morning.
Praise Him for the
“Edit” and “Backspace” keys
(aka “Repentance”)
that effectively wipes out
my erratic behaviour.
The keys providing the way back to Him
through my simple choice
to step out and just
press “Undo”
(aka “Confession”)
telling Him like it is and
receiving his forgiveness.
Then there is the keeper key,
the one that says,
“Yes, this is good,
I’ll stick with what I’ve said and done.”
I Press ‘Enter”
(aka “Obedience”)
and find my way into His presence,
one little
key stroke
at a time.

let me never be put to shame.
Oh, Geoff, how did I forget that? Perfect! Thanks for stopping by.
Jody,
Vivid, edifying analogy.
And don't forget about
the “Esc” key (aka “Flee!)
