God’s Law is His Love

“That God cares enough about us to desire to regulate the details of our lives,
is the strongest proof of love He could give;
and that He should condescend to tell us all about it,
and to let us know just how to live and walk so as perfectly to please Him,
seems almost too good to be true.
God’s law, therefore, is only another name for God’s love
and the more minutely that law descends
into the details of our lives,
the more sure we are made of the depth
and reality of the love.”

  1. I'm reading through the whole thing–I started in January. I'm on the 12th section I think. And it's ALL good…..that's why I couldn't choose. 🙂
    Thanks for stopping by.

  2. I love how you couldn't choose a verse… just the whole long chapter. 🙂
    One of my favorites from this Psalm is vs 45 — “I will walk at liberty, for I seek your precepts.” When I was teaching, I had it printed out over my white board.

  3. Yes, God's law is perfect–

    I love what Psalm 19 has to say about it also.

    And also love Hannah Whitehall Smith's writings!
