Just Because (1)

Blessed

I’ve been camping out in this passage below, chewing on the words, digesting a little at a time–there is so much there. Just wanted to share with you–maybe the words will speak to you, too.

Matthew 5 Amplified Bible
“3 Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the poor in spirit(the humble, who rate themselves insignificant), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!
Blessed and enviably happy [with a happiness produced by the experience of God’s favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His matchless grace] are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted!
Blessed (happy, blithesome, joyous, spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the meek (the mild, patient, long-suffering), for they shall inherit the earth!
Blessed and fortunate andhappy and spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favor and salvation) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), for they shall be completely satisfied!
Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy
Blessed (happy, enviably fortunate, and spiritually prosperous—possessing the happiness produced by the experience of God’s favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of their outward conditions) are the pure in heart, for they shall see God!
Blessed (enjoying enviable happiness, spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they shall be called the sons of God!
10 Blessed and happy andenviably fortunate and spiritually prosperous (in the state in which the born-again child of God enjoys and finds satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of his outward conditions) are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake (for being and doing right), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!
11 Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of your outward conditions) are you when people revile you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things against you falsely on My account.
12 Be glad and supremely joyful, for your reward in heaven is great (strong and intense), for in this same way people persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

  1. In this expansion, retelling, and enveloping writing of the Sermon on the Mount, I have been blessed and given ponderable food for thought, my friend. It is special and will send me to Matthew 5 for more food.
    Caring through Christ, ~ linda

PS…”Dainty Bess” is absolutely lovely and probably smells lovely too like the old fashioned roses do and did! I am glad you shared your gift.

  3. Jody, again I'm so happy you stopped by my blog…and led me to yours! What a beautiful word to be “camped” out on today! I LOVE this… Love the word, blithesome in regards to His favor too. Blessing and favor and grace abounding, words of truth.

  4. Thanks for asking, Kel, yes, the rose is mine…it's real. (I added a line in my post, thanks to your question.)

And yes, the 'regardless of outward circumstances' lines have been speaking to me loud and clear. Loud and clear. 🙂

  5. Just Because! This is great! Thank you for posting God's delicious word…the refrain of the meaning of blessed truly blesses me…regardless of his outward conditions…how awesome that this blessedness is an inner state that cannot be disrupted by outward circumstances…love those flowers…are they real?
