Remember the Living Water

Jen Ferguson, who blogs at Finding Heaven Today and who is the fearless online encourager/leader of the Soli Deo Gloria fellowship of amazing women bloggers, asked our very loosely organized ‘members’ to write about one of three things:

Renewing, Refreshing, Restoring

I have been flying on the fumes of Jesus’ presence and walking in the power of his Holy Spirit ALONE this last two weeks–I’m gearing up for a new school year in a new school in a new job with new people.  There is SO.MUCH.TO.DO.

The practice that has kept me alive is using my heavenly language to pour out my unspoken prayers and cares on a minute by minute basis.  I haven’t had a devotional ‘quiet’ time in about two weeks because there has been NO time….(you can read why here.)

But I can, moment by moment, minute by minute (I just said that, huh?) experience the presence and power of Jesus by the refreshing of the Holy Spirit.

This verse below declares to believers that they repent…a necessary frame of mind when you’re leaning into Jesus and making daily mistakes. I believe times of refreshing come when the living water rises up in us through the power of the Holy Spirit.

“Repent, then, and turn to God,
so that your sins may be wiped out,
that times of refreshing may come from the Lord”
Acts 3:19

How are you renewed, refreshed, restored?

  1. Oh, how well I remember the days leading up to a new school year! 'Scaled that mountain of preparation 26 times, at 4 different schools. Can't believe you're keeping up with your blog, too! My prayer for you, Jody, is that God will energize you, augment your efforts so much gets accomplished in quick time, and He will make clear what to let go for later. Better yet, He'll miraculously take care of items on your to-do list by canceling a few commitments, raising up others to do a few, etc.

Your students are going to be so blessed to have you–a sweet-natured, creative, loving teacher!
