Hunting for Red (& Yellow & Orange & Green) in October

We’ve lived in the Pacific Northwest for almost 24 years. Autumn colors never get old….
Here’s a foray into our backyard…..Enjoy!
a view through the trees

a hawthorn tree full of berries-the birds love it!

the red against the green on this shrub willow is stunning
spent buds from the Japanese Stewartia–all that dark amber….

the color on the blueberry plants is amazing
the last of the (crazy backwards) sunflowers

nasturtiums in the flower bed
this view is through the wooden ends of the crib slats in our
‘flower bed’
still a few small zinnias
dainty blue flowers of borage plant
(small leaves are great in salad–very cucumbery)
raindrops on rose leaves
shhhhhhhhh…… our neighbor doesn’t know our nasturtiums
are creeping through the fence
a rose is a rose is a rose
