Isaiah 55:8,9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Linking with Jen and the Soli Deo Gloria sisters;
also the blessed community at Do Not Depart, soaking in Isaiah 55.
The first word in the next two weeks’ verses is
‘Behold’–as in, “‘lo!’ as in expressing surprise”.
Come join us!
This also reminds of the verses in Isaiah that say…behold, see I am doing a new thing. I am struck that at times God calls us to remember how He worked, to remember it as an anchor but not an expectation for He will work in new ways at new times. Love this!! I may have to check out the Isaiah project, I do love the book of Isaiah.
We are so shortsighted in the middle of our challenges and messes. Eternity helps with the perspective 🙂
Thank you for stopping by…..
thank you, Jennifer. I appreciate your kind words. He is a good God, no?
I love this scripture. Anything that is confusing to us here on earth in our foggy minds makes sense when we realize His thoughts and ways are above ours…and perfect.
Cooking Up Faith
Was just thinking of this today! Very comforting verse during tough times. Visiting from Jen's linkup.
Hi Jody, I so love how you point me to Him, in this beautiful place here. Thank you.
That's one of my favorite portions of the Word. A goal to hear His instructions in the midst of a crazy, sinful world. All we can truly rely upon is His personal instruction to/for us.. Yep, gotta rely on what I hear from Him. Don't want to go the wrong direction. Thanks, as usual. Good sharing piece. And, I gotta try to keep up with so many of my dear friends, but lose track unless I'm on Deidra's or Sandy's. Looking at “you” now, though. Can't see enough, but you are cared for even if I don't follow through significantly. Hope to see you and yours next time I'm in the NW.
You're welcome….Jesus gave me that thought in the kitchen yesterday. 🙂
thank you Sharon. Yes, God is awesome.
Sometimes it is hard to trust that He knows what He's doing, so verses like these are so important for me to remember. Thanks, Jody!
not sure where my last comment went. This is awesome … He is directing our lives on many levels.
