Before this table small
vast truth held in a cup,
I pause, stilled at the gleam of
silver mirrored by manmade stars,
and cast my eyes on Godmade we,
who sup on life, taking
in the All who is everywhere that
marries the coming birth with
Mary’s gift, delivered to save us
with His death.
And yet He came.
