For the Weekend…Thirst

We recently almost broke a 60 year record for the most consecutive days without rain–49.
That’s a very long time for us Seattlites.
I took these photos** the last time we had a good soaking–in July.
“When one is thirsty, one quenches one’s thirst by drinking,
not by reading books which treat of this condition.”
Jean-Pierre de Caussade

Father, keep me thirsting for you and the living water only you can bring….

Neat pictures. When there's so little rain out there during the summer, one of the most yukky sights is the constant drought-formed grasses everywhere. When people always expect that portion of WA, from the Cascades to the ocean, to be green, green, and greener still, the yellow, brown, and dry grass is a surprise to them, if not the rest of us.

Hopefully, when I'm visiting, it will be not so showery that I can't walk on the waterfronts in Seattle and Tacoma, wander through the Pt. Defiance park, see “my” mountain(s), etc. Can hardly wait… 5-plus weeks now.

Great quote–especially since my word for the year is drink. Happy weekend, Jody.

Thanks for linking up with Susan and me! That's a fabulous quote by de Caussade. I'm afraid I'm one of the people he's admonishing: a poolside reader when what I need to do is plunge in.

I'd love to hear your thoughts
