Rest in Love

  “I muse, which shows more love,
The day or night:
                     that is the gale, this th’ harbour;
That is the walk, and this the arbour,
Or that the garden, this the grove.”

“My God, thou art all love.
                  Not one poore minute scapes thy breast,
But brings a favour from above;
And in this love, more then in bed, I rest.”

George Herbert (1593-1633) ‘Evensong’
last stanza

I wrote this the other night thinking of my friend Kimberlee Conway Ireton
Little did I know until I woke up this morning she’d written of rest, too.
Hope you’ll go over to her place to read another word about resting in Jesus.
Also linking up with the words and beauty over at Still Saturday.

  1. You're increasing my exposure to poetry. 🙂

    What a lovely thing to consider – which shows more love, day vs. night?
