Why “Poetic Discoveries”?

I’m so glad you asked. The Apostle Paul says we are God’s poiema, a Greek word that means, “a made thing.” This discovery has drawn me to the intentional, descriptive language that poetry offers and in the process I’ve uncovered my own poetry path. Our lives are literally God’s poem – He writes our stories through our daily living, breathing and walking around.

But how can we get the poetry of our lives on the page to express our own “made things?” If you are new to the practice of writing (or have been journaling or blogging for awhile) and want to discover a deeper connection with God through poetry, I’m here to help.

DISCOVERY TOOLS
When you join in the journey to uncover God’s heart for you–His poiema–you’ll find tools to guide along the way. Whether you want to begin Making Friends with Poetry, learn how to write your own “I am From”  poem, or dip into reading poetry for the first time, you’ve come to the right place. My goal is to offer practices and processes for discovering and writing their own poiema and learn how that poetry is expressed in the world. The closer we move to the center where God is, the more like ourselves we become.
